Taiyuan Institute of Technology

Taiyuan Institute of technology, founded in 1954, is located in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, an ancient city with a history of 2500 years. Since its founding 55 years ago, the University adheres to the education concept of "unity of knowledge and practice, and action is better than words", and has trained nearly 100000 talents of all kinds. Now it has developed into a full-time ordinary university which mainly focuses on engineering and covers six disciplines of engineering, science, economics, management, arts and law.

The college has 12 departments including mechanical engineering department, electronic engineering department, automation department, chemistry and chemical engineering department, computer engineering department, environment and safety engineering department, material engineering department, science department, management engineering department, foreign language department, design art department, economy and law department, as well as continuing education department, sports and quality development department and ideological and political theory teaching department. There are 29 undergraduate majors. There are more than 12000 registered students of various types, including more than 9200 full-time undergraduate and junior college students and more than 3000 adult education students. A multi-directional and multi-level school running pattern and education system have been formed from junior college students to undergraduates and from full-time to adult education.

At present, the college has 10 key majors, including 2 national pilot majors of polymer materials and engineering and chemical engineering and technology, 13 excellent courses, including 1 National Excellent Course and 4 provincial excellent courses; 18 experimental centers, including 78 laboratories, including 10 key laboratories, and the material science and Engineering Experimental Center has been rated as the provincial demonstration experimental teaching center .

College in 2009 to accept the Shanxi Province bachelor's degree award evaluation, all the votes through the evaluation. At present, the college has more than 800 teaching staff, including more than 460 full-time teachers and 173 professors and associate professors. In recent years, it has completed 95 teaching research projects and won 10 provincial and ministerial teaching achievement awards. "Two Courses" teaching was awarded "excellent" Two Courses "teaching unit" by Shanxi Province twice. Among them, 4 won the first prize, 2 won the second prize, and 5 won the third prize. Five of them were awarded the first prize and the second prize respectively by the socialist labor competition committee of Shanxi Province. Two teachers were rated as "famous teachers" in Colleges and universities of Shanxi Province. One teacher was rated as "national excellent educator" by the Ministry of education. One teacher was rated as the provincial youth academic leader.

Closely combined with the development of social economy, the college vigorously carries out scientific research. The number of scientific research projects is increasing year by year, and the strength of scientific research is increasing. In recent years, it has won 8 provincial (ministerial) level awards, 9 national patents, and 12 provincial (ministerial) level appraisals, of which three have filled in the domestic gap and are at the leading level in China. 157 books and textbooks were published, and 1637 scientific and technological academic papers were published, of which 56 were included in SCI, EI and ISTP.

The main quality indicators such as the winning rate of students participating in all kinds of national and provincial competitions, the employment rate of graduates, the postgraduate entrance examination rate and the passing rate of CET-4 are all in the forefront of colleges and universities in the province. Up to now, 69 awards have been won in the "National Mathematical Modeling Contest for college students", including 2 international excellent awards and 3 first prizes in the national competition area. There are 17 awards in the National Undergraduate Electronic Design Competition, including one national second prize. A total of 449 people won the "National College English competition", including one national special prize and 32 first prize. As the only team in Shanxi Province, in the fourth and fifth CCTV Asia Pacific University robot competition domestic trials, it entered the national top 32 for two consecutive times, and in 2007, it was successfully promoted to the national top 16.

The college covers an area of 380000 square meters, with a construction area of 210000 square meters and fixed assets of 490 million yuan. The college has excellent teaching and scientific research conditions. It has the most advanced gefanuc automation system training room in North China. The total value of various teaching instruments and equipment is more than 93 million yuan. The library has a collection of more than 730000 books.

The college actively carries out international exchanges and cooperation. The college has long employed foreign teachers. In 2006, with the approval of the Ministry of education, the college cooperated with North Atlantic College of Canada to run a school. The Sino Canadian cooperation projects include mechanical manufacturing and automation, applied electronic technology, accounting and other majors, with more than 800 students studying in school.

The college has also won the titles of "Shanxi Advanced University of Party construction and ideological and political work", "Shanxi advanced school of democratic management", "Taiyuan civilized unit", "Taiyuan garden unit", and "safe campus" advanced unit. We have made great achievements in all kinds of work and enjoyed a high social reputation.
