Songyuan Songyuan is a prefecture level city under the jurisdiction of Jilin Province. It is located in the Midwest of Jilin Province, in the triangle of Harbin, Changchun and Daqing, at the southern end of Songnen Plain, on the beautiful Songhua River. It is adjacent to Changchun City and Siping City in the south, Baicheng city and Tongliao City in Inner Mongolia in the west, and Daqing City in Heilongjiang Province across the Songhua River in the north. Together with Baotou, Hohhot and Ordos, they are known as the "four little dragons of economic growth in northern China". In 2018, the gross regional product will be RMB 137.36 billion.
Songyuan City is known as "granary, forest, meat depot, fish town" reputation. It is honored as "the most potential Chinese city for investment in the eyes of multinational companies", National Garden City, top 200 charming small and medium-sized cities in China, and top 10 charming cities in Northeast China. In February 2017, Songyuan City was selected as the key city of PPP innovation in the field of national major municipal engineering.
Historical evolution
In the 22nd century BC, it belonged to the early kingdom of Sushen. Fuyu has a long history. As early as the early Western Han Dynasty, the first local agricultural country in Northeast China, Fuyu country (capital Changchun), was established here. The agriculture and animal husbandry of Fuyu country has been very developed, creating a historical and cultural precedent in Northern Xinjiang.
It is located on the South Bank of the main stream of the Songhua River, north of which is the boundary between the Songhua River and Zhaoyuan County. In the Qing Dynasty, Fuyu, Songyuan City, Jilin Province, was under the jurisdiction of Jilin general boduna and vice capital, who was stationed in boduna. Boduna city is one of the seven important military towns in the early Qing Dynasty. In 1682 (the 21st year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty), boduna station was set up, which was an important passage from the west of general ningguta to Qiqihar city.
In 1693 (the 32nd year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty), a new town was built 20 miles south of boduna post station, named boduna new town (today's Fuyu town), and a special city garrison was set up.
In 1811 (the 16th year of Jiaqing in Qing Dynasty), boduna hall was set up, which was stationed in boduna new town. At the same time, a patrol inspector was set up, which was stationed in guyushutun (now Yushu City), and was subordinate to boduna hall.
On February 15, 1906 (January 22, the 32nd year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty), boduna hall was upgraded to new Chengfu, stationed in Xincheng, and was in the same city as the vice capital of boduna; guyushu village was transformed into Yushu County, led by Xincheng Fu. In April of the next year, the general was cut off and he was transferred to the northwest road of Jilin Province.
On June 2, 1909 (April 15, the first year of Xuantong in Qing Dynasty), it was approved to abolish boduna's vice governor.
After the founding of the Republic of China, it was changed into Xincheng County in March 1913. It belongs to northwest road of Jilin Province.
In February 1914, it was renamed Fuyu County by order because of the same name as Xincheng County in Hebei, Shandong and other provinces. In June of the same year, northwest road was renamed Binjiang Road, belonging to Binjiang Road.
In February 1929, the Taoist system was abolished and Jilin Province was directly under the central government. After the fall of Northeast China, it was under the jurisdiction of Jilin Province.
After the victory of the Anti Japanese war in 1945, it was initially under the jurisdiction of Jijiang administrative region, and was put under the jurisdiction of Nenjiang Province in May 1946.
In May 1949, it was under the jurisdiction of Jilin Province.
In 1956, it was subordinate to Gongzhuling District, and in October 1958, it was changed to Baicheng district.
On November 19, 1987, the State Council approved the abolition of Fuyu County and the establishment of Fuyu city (county level).
On June 6, 1992, the State Council approved the abolition of Fuyu City, the establishment of Songyuan City (prefecture level) and the establishment of Fuyu District of Songyuan City.
On July 20, 1995, the State Council approved the establishment of Fuyu County, which has jurisdiction over some administrative areas of Fuyu District, and the county people's government is stationed in Sanchahe town. Fuyu District of Songyuan City was renamed Ningjiang district of Songyuan City.
In 2000, according to the data of the fifth national census, the total population of Songyuan City was 2766036. Among them, there are 538469 people in Ningjiang district, 567246 people in former gollos Autonomous County, 625830 people in Changling County, 300745 people in Qian'an county and 733746 people in Fuyu County.
In 2003, Songyuan City had four counties and one district, including Fuyu County, Qianguo County, Changling County, Qian'an county and Ningjiang district, three provincial development zones, namely economic and Technological Development Zone, agricultural high-tech development zone and Chagan Lake Tourism Economic Development Zone, and seven municipal industrial parks, including taipingchuan, Guoerluosi, Changshan, Shuizi, Taolaizhao, Caijiagou and yadahong.
In January 2013, with the approval of the State Council, Fuyu County was abolished and Fuyu city (county level) was re established. The newly established Fuyu city is directly under the central government of Jilin Province and managed by Songyuan City.

Songyuan City is famous for its many rivers and marshes, especially for its three rivers, one river and one lake.
Songhua River begins at the confluence of Songhua River and Nenjiang River, flows eastward along the northern part of the city and flows into Heilongjiang Province. The river is 120 km long and flows through eight villages and towns of Fuyu City, covering an area of 2229 square kilometers. The maximum water level is 127.37m, the minimum water level is 119.59m, the maximum flow is 14600m m3 / s, and the minimum flow is 346m m3 / s.
Songhua River (formerly known as Xiliu Songhua River and the second Songhua River) is the largest river in Jilin Province, which originates from Tianchi of Changbai Mountain. It enters from Taolaizhao town in the southeast of the city, passes through the city center, turns West and North, joins Nenjiang River and flows into Songhua River. It is 188 km long and flows through 13 townships in Fuyu and Qianguo counties and Ningjiang district, covering an area of 1332 square kilometers. The maximum flow is 6750 m3 / s, the minimum flow is 443 m3 / s, the maximum water level is 134.66 m, and the minimum water level is 130.76 M.
Nenjiang River originates from yilehuli mountain in Daxing'an Mountains, flows into Songhua River from the northwest of Songyuan City and flows eastward into Songhua River in Songyuan City. The inner flow of Nenjiang River is 61.7 km long and flows through two towns in Qianguo County, with an area of 1800 square kilometers. The maximum flow is 8810 m3 / s, the minimum flow is 109 m3 / s, the maximum water level is 132.02 m, and the minimum water level is 124.33 M. the river channel is deeply cut and multi grooved.
Lalin river is a tributary on the right side of Songhua River. It originates from bieshilazi mountain in Dunhua county. It flows from the east of the city to the north and flows into Songhua River. The length of the river is 84 km and flows through five towns in Fuyu, with a drainage area of 1081.86 square km. The maximum flow is 4030 m3 / s, the minimum flow is 9.32 m3 / s, the highest water level is 141.04 m, the lowest is 136.34 M.
Chagan Lake is located in the northwest of the former gollus Mongolian Autonomous County. It is one of the top ten freshwater lakes in China, with an area of 259 square kilometers, more than 600 million cubic meters of water and 36000 hectares of reeds.

There are 14 marshes with an area of more than 10000 mu in Songyuan City, including Chagan Lake, xinmiaopuo, kulibao, dabusupao, huaaopao, yezipao, erzipao, hongzipao, Yangying Zipao, Chagan huapao, Yueliangpao, Yaojing Zipao, 46pao, shisanpao No.1, etc. These marshes are mainly distributed in Qianguo County, Changling County and Qian'an county.
