[plant morphology] biluozi
Small evergreen trees, about 10 m high. Trunk straight, skin gray brown; twigs thick, dense rust color pilose. Leaves alternate, leathery, oblanceolate or elliptic, 8-25 cm long and 3-5 cm wide, apex pointed or obtuse, base cuneate, entire or upper sparsely serrate, hairy when tender on top, rusty tomentose below, lateral veins visible on back; petiole 2.5-3 cm long, short hairy. Panicle terminal, rusty pilose; flowers small, white; sepals 5; petals 5; stamens 5. Drupe subglobose, base oblique, 5-8 mm in diameter, calyx persistent. The flowering period is from May to June. The fruiting period is August.
It grows on hillside, stream side, forest edge, broad-leaved mixed forest and shrub. Distributed in Zhejiang, Fujian, Taiwan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hunan and other places.
