[source] it is the aerial part of Siegesbeckia peucescens Makino.
[plant morphology] annual herb, more than 1m in height. The upper part of the branch, especially the inflorescence branch, is covered with purplish brown capitate long glandular hairs and white villous hairs. The leaves are opposite, thin, short hairy on both sides, white villous along the veins, broad ovate to broad ovate triangular in the middle, 7-20cm long and 5-18cm wide, with teeth of different sizes on the edge and short acuminate at the top. The inflorescence is 2-3cm in diameter, mostly in corymbose shape; the outer involucre is 1-1.5cm long; the ligulate is about 3.5mm long. The achene is about 3.5mm long. The flowering period is from August to October and the fruiting period is from September to December.
Born in the forest edge, forest, wilderness, roadside. It is distributed in Northeast, North China, East China, Central South and southwest.

[chemical constituents] it contains pimar-8 (14) - ene-6 β - kauran-19-oic acid, alkaloid and bitterness.
Cold in nature, pungent and bitter in taste.
[function indications] dispel wind and dampness, benefit joints and detoxify. It is used for rheumatic arthralgia, weakness of muscles and bones, soreness of waist and knee, quadriplegia, hemiplegia, rubella and dampness sores.
[note] both S. orientalis L. and s. glabrescens Makino are used as herbage.
