[source] it is the bark, trunk or branch of Ulmaceae plant Celtis angustifolia.

[plant morphology] Magnolia microphylla

Deciduous trees, up to 15 m high. Bark gray, smooth; branchlets brown, glossy. Leaves alternate, leathery, ovate or ovate oblong, 4-11 cm long, apex acuminate, base obliquely cuneate, margin upper serrate, sometimes subentire, upper green, smooth, lower gray green, vein axils often pilose; petiole 5-10 mm long. The flowers are mixed, green and planted on the tender branches; the male flowers are clustered in the axils of the leaves at the base of the new branches, and the female or bisexual flowers are solitary or clustered in the axils of the leaves at the upper part of the new branches. The drupe is nearly spherical, dark purple when ripe, and the petiole is longer than the petiole; the nucleus is spherical, white and smooth. The flowering period is from April to May. The fruit period is from August to September.

(1) antitussive effect

Mice with intraperitoneal injection of lollipop extract, ether extract and volatile oil part (ammonia spray cough) have antitussive effects. N (p-hydroxyphenylethyl) p-hydroxycinnamoyl purulent isolated from Corydalis has been proved to have antitussive effect in animal experiments.

② Expectorant and antiasthmatic effects

The extract of lollipop and ether, chloroform and ethanol had the expectorant effect (mouse phenol red method), but all kinds of extracts had no antiasthmatic effect (guinea pig histamine spray method).

③ Antibacterial action

The ether extract of Corydalis had certain inhibitory effect on pneumococcus, Streptococcus A, Catacoccus and influenza bacillus. The root, bark, stem, leaf and stem bark were all effective.

④ The results showed that Corydalis stem bark injection could inhibit the respiration of trachea and lung tissue and reduce the oxygen consumption by 29.1%.

⑤ Safety test

After intraperitoneal injection of 20, 40 and 60 g / kg of water decoction of Corydalis bungeana in mice, the abnormality was observed for 3 days. After intraperitoneal injection of Corydalis injection and ether extract precipitated by lead acetate (30 and 15 g crude drug / kg, respectively), the righting reflex disappeared and the breathing slowed down, which lasted for about 20 minutes.

[prescription selection] ① for bronchial asthma and chronic bronchitis: one stick of camphor wood, two liang, five yuan of sugar. [clinical application] treatment of chronic tracheitis

Soak, decoct and concentrate the crude powder of Corydalis, extract it with alcohol and make it into an injection with 1g crude drug per milliliter. Intramuscular injection twice a day, 2 ml each time, 10 days as a course of treatment. 653 cases were treated, the effective rate was 93%. The antitussive effect is more obvious. After medication, patients generally reported increased appetite and good sleep. There were no other side effects except dry mouth and fever in some patients. Or the wood is made into sugar coated tablets, each containing 4.6 grams of crude medicine. Take 5 tablets orally twice a day. 10 days is a course of treatment. 190 cases were observed. After three courses of treatment, 8 cases were cured (4.2%), 40 cases were markedly effective (21.1%), 105 cases were improved (55.3%), 37 cases were ineffective (19.5%). According to the observation, this product has certain effect on cough, expectoration, wheezing and inflammation, and the effect of relieving cough and asthma is better; the effective rate of simple type is slightly higher than wheezing type. During the course of taking medicine, some patients had dizziness, palpitation, shortness of breath and nausea. The blood pressure of 5 patients increased significantly.
