Shrubs or trees, up to 8 m high. Bark grayish brown; twigs purplish brown, pubescent. Leaflets 9-19, petiolate or sessile, oblong to lanceolate, 2-5 cm long, 1-1.5 cm wide, base cuneate, apex acute, margin acutely serrate; main veins distinct; racemes terminal or axillary, 14-25 cm long; sepals 5, elliptic, pubescent; petals 5, white, base inner surface purplish red Spotted, obovate, about 3 times as long as calyx; disk thin and 5-lobed, with an angular appendage on the back of each lobe; stamens 8, filaments long and separated; ovary oblong, 3-locular, style short and fat, stigma 3-lobed.
