[plant morphology] Zanthoxylum heterophyllum

Shrubs or small trees, 2-6m high. Branches rough, only sparsely prickly. Leaflets 1-3, thin 3-5, leathery, broadly ovate to oblong, 4-12 cm long, 2-5 cm wide, apex short acuminate, sometimes concave, base narrowly cuneate, margin serrate or needled.
