[plant morphology] Lycopodium harringtonii
Evergreen perennial epiphytic herbs, 6-16 cm high. Stems tufted, erect or curved, upper stem 2-branched. Leaves leathery, spirally arranged, lanceolate, 1-1.5 cm long, 0.1-0.2 cm wide, apex obtuse, base cuneate, glossy, entire, midrib distinct, lateral veins inconspicuous; sessile. The sporophyll is smaller and grows on the upper part of the branch. It is isomorphic with the vegetative leaf. Sporangia reniform, solitary on abaxial surface of leaves near base.
Epiphytic on rocks and trees in the mountains. It is distributed in Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan and Taiwan.

Functions and indications: clearing heat, breaking blood, detumescence and relieving pain. Treat high fever, headache, cough, diarrhea, swelling and poison.
