Perennial short herbs, 6-20 cm high. The root is fleshy and looks like a pig's large intestine. Stem erect or obliquely upward, lavender, villous. Leaflets alternate; elliptic or elliptic obovate, entire, apex retuse, margin ciliated, both sides ciliated. Inflorescence racemose, dense, many flowers, axillary or axillary exophytic; flowers small, easy to fall; bracts 3, light green and purplish red; calyx 5: petals 3, lower part slightly connate with stamens; stamens 8, lower part connate, slightly dehiscent to one side; ovary 2-locular. Capsule oblate, hirsute. The seed is hairy, and the caruncle has two ovate appendages. The flowering period is from August to September. The fruit period is from September to November.
It grows in the low grass under the sparse forest on the hillside. It is distributed in Sichuan and other places.
