[source] it is the whole plant of Akebia.

[plant morphology] Akebia roxburghii

Woody vines. There are many fibrous roots. Leaves opposite, slightly shield shaped, ovate lanceolate, 10-15 cm long, 5-8 cm wide. Racemes in axils of leaves with pale yellow or white flowers.

It is found in shady and humid places near hillsides and forests. It is distributed in Yunnan and other places.

[flavor] slightly warm, bitter and pungent.

[function indications] Shujin Huoluo, Xiaoyan diuretic. Treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, lumbocrural pain, nephritis, edema, urinary tract infection, cystitis, urethritis.

[usage and dosage] oral administration: decoct soup, 3-5 yuan; or soak in wine.

[should avoid] pregnant women should not take it.
