Annual herb, 30-100 cm high. Stem erect, tetragonal, sparsely pilose or glabrous. Leaves opposite, pinnately compound, ca. 15 cm or less long; lower leaves sometimes simple. Leaflets 3, sometimes 5, petiolate, ovate or ovate elliptic, 2.5-7 cm long, serrate or divided.
