Herbs perennial, 40-55 cm high. Rhizome creeping, yellowish brown, with dense nodules. Leaves alternate, 2-row, sword shaped, 30-60 cm long, 25-40 mm wide, leathery. The stem is longer than the leaf, and several flowers form a loose raceme; the flower is light purple blue, about 5-6cm in diameter, perianth is 6, 2-whorled, outer whorl is oblate ovate, apex is slightly concave, margin is slightly dentate, lower part is light yellow, middle part has cockscomb process, inner whorl is narrow obovate, apex is 2-whorled, margin is slightly dentate; stamen is 3, inserted at the base of outer perianth; pistil is 1, ovary is inferior, 3-locular, columnar The head is 3-cleft. The capsule has 6 edges and many seeds. The flowering period is from April to May.
It grows on the edge of forest and the edge of water. It is distributed in Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Guangdong, Jiangxi, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Hubei, Hebei and other places.
