Perennial herbs. Roots thick, divergent, slightly curved, dark brown, with long fibrous roots. Stem erect, densely covered with inverted White coarse hairs. The leaves are alternate, ovate or suborbicular, palmately 5-lobed, lobes then shallowly split into many lobes, with dense white hairs on both sides; the petiole at the base of stem is 18-26 cm long, with longitudinal edges, densely covered with inverted white hairs. Raceme long and narrow; bracteoles lanceolate; sepals 5, purplish blue, elliptic, spur subulate; staminodes 2, petals blue, 2-lobed, with white beard; stamens numerous, carpels 3. Seeds densely squamous with transverse wings.
Born in the mountains and forests. Distributed in Guizhou, Sichuan, Yunnan and other places.
