Perennial herbs, 60-100 cm high. The rhizome goes horizontally. The leaves are nearly green, leathery and herbaceous; the petiole is 30-45 cm long, brown, longitudinally furrowed, few hairless, with sparse scales at the base; the scales are linear lanceolate, 4-8 mm long; the leaves are ovate broadly lanceolate, 35-55 cm long, 25-35 cm wide, 2-pinnate compound leaves. Middle rib scales linear, 5-8 pairs of pinnae; apical pinnae triangular lanceolate, 15-30 cm long, 4-6 cm wide; lateral pinnae lanceolate, slightly smaller than apical pinnae, apex acuminate, base widest, petiole 1-1.5 cm long; the first pinnae downward of the lowest pinnae elongate, lanceolate, and then pinnate; the pinnules are slightly rhombic, auricular above the base, oblique cuneate below, apex Sharp with sharp teeth on the edge. The sporangia are closely related to the leaves and are round in shape. The spore stage is from May to October.
It grows in the forest and on the wet rock and soil by the stream. It is distributed in Guangdong, Jiangxi, Anhui, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian and southwest China.
