Perennial herbs, 20-50 cm high. The rhizome is inclined with reddish brown lanceolate scales at the top. The leaves are tufted, herbaceous, with grayish white powder grains below; the petiole is 10-20 cm long, purple brown, with light brown scales at the bottom; the leaves are oblong lanceolate, 20-30 cm long. They are 5-7 cm wide and 3-pinnate; the pinnae are triangular lanceolate with short stalks, the apical ones are connected with each other by narrow wings and rachis, the others are separated from wingless rachis, 1 pair of base is slightly short; the pinnules are connected with narrow wings to some extent; the lobes are round and blunt, entire. The sporangium group is marginal and continuous.
It grows in the stone crevice under the sparse forest, or in the shade at the foot of the slope. Distributed in Northeast, Inner Mongolia, Hebei, Shandong, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Henan, Gansu, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan and other places.
