[plant morphology] Dichondra repens
Herbs perennial, creeping, slender, up to 30 cm long, with adventitious roots touching the ground at nodes, usually with T-shaped hairs. Leaves simple, alternate, rounded to reniform, 6-10 mm in diam., rarely up to 25 mm, apex rounded, sometimes slightly concave, entire, base deeply cordate, upper green, smooth, lower light green, glabrous or sparsely pilose. Flowers small, solitary, axillary, pedicel shorter than petiole; calyx 5-lobed, lobes ovate, less than 1 mm long, green, persistent; corolla campanulate, white; stamens 5; ovary superior, 2-locular, composed of two separate carpels. Capsule subglobose, ca. 2 mm in diam., shorter than calyx. Two seeds. The flowering period is April. The fruit period is from July to August.
