[source] it is the root of waer Teng, a family of Asclepiadaceae.
[plant morphology] Ranunculus yunnanensis
Perennial herbs, about 50 cm high. The roots are numerous, clustered, slender, cylindrical and yellowish. Stem erect, cylindrical, covered with brown short hairs. Leaves opposite, broadly ovate or elliptic, lanceolate upward, apex pointed, base obtuse, entire, both sides sparsely short hairy; petiole short. Cymes on stem apex and leaf axils; flowers dark purple red. Follicles long conic, about 4.5 cm long, dehiscent after ripening, with seeds scattered. Seeds flat, brownish red, with silky long hairs on the top. The flowering period is summer and autumn.
Born on sunny grassland in the mountains. It is distributed in Yunnan and other places.
