Perennial herbs, 15-40 cm high. The root is gray black, slightly spindle or oval. Stems tufted, slender, erect, branched, with white pubescence on the surface. The root leaves are tufted with long stalks; one turn and three leaves are compound, the leaflets are broad cuneate, and then 3-lobed, the lobes are round at the apex, or there are 2-3 small notches, green above and purple below, smooth and glabrous; the petioles are short and villous; the stem leaves are similar to the root leaves, but gradually smaller from bottom to top.
