It also contains cryptoflavin, ascorbic acid, pantothenic acid, inositol, vitamin K, sitosterol, stigmasterol, malic acid, citric acid, tartaric acid, oxalic acid, etc.

Corn silk has diuretic effect on human and rabbit, and can increase chloride excretion, but the effect is weak. [clinical application] ① treatment of chronic nephritis

Take 50g of dried corn silk, add 600ml of warm water, decoct it with gentle fire for 20-30 minutes, get about 300ml-400ml of liquid medicine, take it orally after filtration, once a day or in parts. Nine cases of chronic glomerulonephritis were treated. After more than 10 months of observation, 3 cases were cured, 2 cases improved, and the other 4 cases had no obvious effect. The effect of corn silk is mainly manifested in diuresis, improvement of renal function, regression or reduction of edema, disappearance or reduction of urinary protein and so on. ② Treatment of nephrotic syndrome
