Matsujie
(notes to the classic of Materia Medica)
Another name: huangsongmujie (shenghuifang), yousongjie (compilation of medicinal materials), songlangtou (Pharmacology).
[source] the nodule of branches of Pinus tabulaeformis, Pinus massoniana or Pinus yunnanensis.
[plant morphology] 1. Pinus tabulaeformis, also known as Pinus brevifolia and Pinus koraiensis.
Evergreen trees, 15-25m high and 1m DBH. The bark is grayish brown with scaly cracks and reddish brown fissures. Twigs whorled, branchlets stout, light orange or grayish yellow; winter buds long elliptic, brown. The leaf is needle shaped, 2 needles in a bunch, rare 3 needles in a bunch, thick and hard, 10-15 cm long, with fine serrations on the edge and stomatal lines on both sides; the leaf sheath is light brown at the beginning, gradually changing into dark gray, and the appearance is often covered with thin powder layer. The flowers are unisexual, monoecious, and both are pinecones; the male inflorescence is long ovate, 1-1.5cm long, yellowish green, clustered at the top of the previous year's branchlets; after flowering, it becomes catkin like, with many stamens; the female inflorescence is broad ovate, 7mm long, purple, with 1-2 ovules attached at the top of the new branch of the current year, most of the ovules are closely arranged in spiral shape, with 2 ovules; there is a small bract under the ovule scale, which is closely related to the ovule Scale separation. The pineal cone is ovoid, 5-8 cm long and 3-5 cm in diameter. It can survive on the branches for several years. The scales are protruding and the umbilicus is obtuse. Seeds winged, irregularly elliptic, slightly flat, purplish brown or brown, with oily endosperm. The flowering period is from April to May. The fruit is hot in September next year.
It grows on hillsides. Distributed in Liaoning, Jilin, Hebei, Shandong, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Gansu, Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, Qinghai, Henan, Shandong and other places.
② Pinus massoniana, also known as Pinus taiwanensis, Pinus thunbergii, Pinus taiwanensis, Pinus taiwanensis.
Evergreen trees, up to 40 meters high. The bark is reddish brown with irregular long lumps. Branchlets are often whorled, reddish brown, with persistent scalelike leaf pillow, often tilted, rough; winter buds are long oval, bud scales are reddish brown, leaves are needle shaped, 2 needles in a bunch, slender and flexible, 13-20 cm long, leaf margin is serrate; leaf sheath is membranous, gray white, persistent. The male inflorescence is elliptic to ovate, elongated into catkin shape after opening, yellow, stamens with 2 pollen sacs; the female inflorescence is elliptic, flesh purple. The pinecone is ovoid cone-shaped, 4-7 cm long and 2.5-4.5 cm in diameter. The scales are woody, rhombic in scale shield, flat in scale process, slightly ridged, small and short in hilum, concave or convex. The flowering period is from April to May. The fruit ripens in October next year.
It grows in the mountains. It is distributed in Henan, Anhui, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Taiwan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hunan, Hubei, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Shaanxi and other places.
③ Pinus yunnanensis, also known as Pinus yunnanensis.
Evergreen trees, up to 30 m high. The bark is reddish brown when it is young, grayish brown when it grows old, and is deeply split and flaky. Winter buds are thick, conical, ovate to cylindrical, reddish brown, scales lanceolate, covered with white transparent membrane. The leaves are needle shaped, 3 needles in a bunch, 15-25 cm in length, serrate at the margin and middle rib, and the leaf sheaths are persistent. The male spheroids are yellow, cylindrical, 2-3cm long, and supported by a bract; the female spheroids are solitary, near the top of the young branches, with purple brown scales. Pinecones are oval cone-shaped or elliptic cone-shaped, 4.5-10 cm in length and 4.5-7 cm in diameter. The scales are oblong at maturity, slightly or significantly raised at the back, and the umbilicus is slightly concave. Seeds ovate or elliptic, yellowish brown. The flowering period is from March to April. The fruit period is from November to December.
It grows in the mountains. It is distributed in Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan and Guangxi.
The young root or root bark (pine root), young branch or young branch tip (pine pen), leaf (pine leaf), pollen (pine pollen), cone (pine ball), bark (pine bark), resin processed products (rosin) and pine resin (pine oil) in wood of the above three plants are also used for medicine. Take half Jin of pine head, pine knot and pine needle of Pinus tabulaeformis and 2 liang of Angelica to make compound injection.
