Deciduous or semi evergreen climbing vines, slender stems, up to 4 meters, hard, all with sparse short hairs. Leaves opposite, petiolate, 1 or 2-3-compound; petioles capable of rolling other things; leaflets ovate or ovate lanceolate, entire, or 2-3-notched. Pedicel in leaf axils, 6-12 cm long, with opposite bracts in the middle; large white flowers on the top of pedicel, 5-8 cm in diameter; calyx 4-6, ovate, sharp, edge slightly wavy, with three thick longitudinal veins in the center and purplish longitudinal veins outside, with short hairs; without petals; stamens mostly, often abnormal, filaments flat and enlarged, dark purple; pistils also mostly, with filaments on style Hair or none. It usually does not bear fruit. Only the stamens are not abnormal can it bear fruit. The flowering period is from May to June.
