[plant morphology] gesneria crassifolia

Annual herb, about 40 cm high. Stem black purple, smooth glabrous. Leaves alternate, ovoid, 4-8 cm long, apex acuminate, base both sides oblique unequal; no stipules. Raceme terminal, many florets; calyx campanulate, 5-toothed; corolla blue, 2-lipped, upper lip short, 2-lobed, lower lip long, 3-lobed; stamen 2, embedded, inserted on corolla, anther glued; arachnoid style slender, protruding, stigma capitate, 2-lobed, ovary superior. Capsule membranous, enclosed in calyx. The seeds are numerous. The flowering period is summer and autumn.

Born in the stone crevice of the roadside. It is distributed in Southwest China.
