[plant morphology] Ixeris sonchifolia
Perennial herbs, 20-40 cm high. With slender stolons or rhizomes. The leaves are linear lanceolate or grate lanceolate, 7-20 cm long and 1.5-8 cm wide, apex obtuse or pointed, margin sparsely pinnate or undivided; base narrowly stipitate; stem leaves only 1-2, sessile, slightly clasping. Inflorescence arranged in loose corymbose panicles; involucre about 8 mm long, outer bract very small, oval, inner bract linear lanceolate, apex pointed or obtuse; ligulate flower yellow or white, tongue apex 5-toothed; stamen 5, anther black; ovary inferior, style upper hairy, stigma 2-lobed, black. Achene narrowly lanceolate; ca. 4 mm long, beaked, with 10 longitudinal ribs on both sides, reddish brown when mature; 1-layer corolla, white and soft. The flowering period is from April to May.
It grows in the field. It is distributed in the north, East and south of China.
