[pharmacological effects] 1. Antitussive, expectorant and antiasthmatic effects
Mice injected intraperitoneally with 0.2 grams of alder bark extract had cough relieving effect, but 10 times the oral dosage was still ineffective (ammonia spray). Oral administration of 2 g water decoction or intraperitoneal injection of 0.2 g / kg could significantly increase the excretion of phenol red in respiratory tract of mice, which indicated that it had expectorant effect. Intraperitoneal injection of 20 g / kg of water in guinea pigs has obvious antiasthmatic effect, but oral administration of 40 g / kg is still ineffective (histamine spray method).
② Bacteriostasis
When the concentration of ethanol extract was 1.0 ml, Staphylococcus albopictus and Staphylococcus albopictus were inhibited.
Bitter and astringent.
[function indications] expectorant, anti-inflammatory, antitussive, antiasthmatic. To treat senile chronic tracheitis.
[usage and dosage] oral administration: decoction, 3-5 yuan; or made into capsules.
[clinical application] treatment of chronic tracheitis
Extract powder was made from the bark of red poplar (collected in winter and spring) and put into capsules. Each capsule contained about 5-7.5g crude drug. 2 capsules each time, 3 times a day after meals, 15 days as a course of treatment. After a course of treatment, 9 cases were controlled, 24 cases were markedly effective, 17 cases were effective and 11 cases were ineffective. According to the animal experiment and clinical observation, the expectorant and anti-inflammatory effects of the bark of Populus tomentosa are more significant, followed by antitussive effect, but the antiasthmatic effect is poor. Sputum cytological examination also showed that this product has a certain effect on the recovery of chronic tracheitis. There was no side effect in the course of treatment.
