[plant morphology] caltrop
Perennial weak small herbs, 6-25 cm high. The root is spherical. Stem erect, slender, simple or upper branched. The root leaves are small, round, withered and carved when flowering; the stem leaves are alternate, with petioles, about 1 cm long; the leaves are crescent shaped, with a transverse diameter of about 5 mm, concave at the base, with many fine hairs on the edge and leaf surface, secreting mucus and sometimes dew beads, which can catch insects. The flowers are small; sepals 5, base connate, ovate, with irregular marginal teeth and glandular hairs; petals 5, white, long and narrow obovate, longer than sepals, with color longitudinal stripes; stamens 5, filaments slender; pistils single, ovary superior, 1-locular, style 3, finger 4-lobed. Capsule loculicidal dehiscence. The seeds are small, oval, with longitudinal strips. The flowering period is from May to June.
Under the forest, grass and other semi shade wetlands. It is distributed in the Yangtze River Basin, Pearl River Basin and southern Tibet.

[clinical application] ① treatment of rheumatoid arthritis
Sun dry the whole grass and grind it into powder. Mix it with water to make a mung bean or soybean sized ball. Apply it to the affected area (pain point) and fix it with adhesive tape. Remove it after 24 hours. After dressing, there is a slight burning pain and blisters, which is a normal reaction. 40 cases have been treated, and all of them have achieved certain results.
② Treatment of neurodermatitis
Take the whole herb of Baijiu, wipe it properly, wipe it to the skin, and burn it for 1 times a day. 8 cases of neurodermatitis were treated. After 3-4 times of treatment, local itching stopped and scales fell off.
