[plant morphology] Oxalis

Annual herbs. The rhizome is decumbent, with residual scalelike leaf base. Leaves basal, few; palmately compound, petiole 8-15 cm long; leaflets 3, inverted triangular, 2-2.5 cm long, 3-3.5 cm wide, apex concave, horns obtuse, entire, base cuneate, upper, lower and petiole densely villous. Pedicel 12-16 cm long, with a bract in the middle; flowers solitary, white or light yellow, about 2 cm in diameter; calyx 5-lobed, green, lobes oblong, 4-6 mm long; petals 5-lobed, about 2 cm long, lobes obovate, membranous; stamens 10, 2-whorled, outer whorls shorter, filaments base connate; ovary superior, 5-locular, style 5, separated. Capsule, ventricles dehiscent at maturity, ejecting seeds. The flowering period is from April to May.

It grows in the humid area under the mountain forest. It is distributed in western, central and southern China, from Yunnan to Taiwan.
