(commonly used Chinese herbal medicine in Tibet)
[synonym] Zhabei zhengwa (Tibetan name).
[source] it is the whole grass of the Polypodiaceae plant, Phragmites halberdii.
[plant morphology] Phragmites halberdii
Epiphytic. Rhizome thick and transverse, densely covered with black transparent thin scales. Leaves basal, petiole green, smooth; leaf blade halberd shaped, thin papery, dark green, glabrous, with two rows of round yellowish sporangia between midrib and leaf margin.
Born on wet rocks. Distributed in Tibet and other places.
[collection] the sporangia are collected when they are mature. Cut the above ground part, brush off the yellow hair, cut into sections and dry in the sun.
[nature and taste] it is flat in nature, bitter and sweet in taste.
[function indications] it can promote diuresis, clear away lung heat. Treatment of nephritis, edema, urinary tract infection, urethral calculi, lung heat, cough, hemoptysis, bronchial asthma, pharyngitis and other diseases.
[usage and dosage] oral: decoction, 1.5 ~ 3 yuan.
