[plant morphology] Mosla crassa
Annual erect herb, 20-60 cm high, much branched. Stem square, pubescent downward. The leaves are oblong, purplish, hairy, 1.1-4 cm long, 0.8-2 cm wide, apex acute or acuminate, base cuneate, margin slightly serrate, both sides with golden glandular dots; petiole 3-20 mm long. Floral rings integrated into interrupted racemes, terminal; bracts ovate lanceolate to ovate, longer than petiole. The calyx is bell shaped, with 10 veins, 1.9-2.5 mm long, with villous and golden glandular spots on the outside, 2 lips, 3 teeth on the upper lip, small and short teeth in the middle, long teeth on both sides, 2 teeth on the lower lip; the Corolla is light purple, 4.5 mm long, puberulent on the outside, contracted at the base of corolla tube, and hairy ring on the upper part of contraction, The upper lip is short, the top is concave, the lobes on both sides of the lower lip are nearly semicircular, the middle lobe is large and outward folded, inverted heart-shaped, with villous inner surface and round teeth at the top; stamens are 4,2-degenerated; styles are 2-lobed, extending out of the tube. Nutlets nearly round, yellowish brown, with reticular raised wrinkles. The flowering period is from September to October. The fruit period is from October to November.
It grows under the trees on the hillside and beside the ditch. Distributed in Shanxi, Shandong, Jiangsu, Anhui, Hubei, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Jiangxi, Fujian, Guangdong and other places.

[clinical application] treatment of chronic tracheitis
Four different compounds were composed of shizhiqi, Huzhang, Commelina communis, Ruixu and Yucao: yishizhiqi 3 liang of fresh whole grass (1 liang of dry grass), Huzhang 1.5 liang of fresh (5 liang of dry product); ershizhiqi and Huzhang the same as before, with Commelina communis 1.5 liang of fresh (5 liang of dry product); sanshizhiqi and Huzhang the same as before, with Ruixu 1.5 liang of fresh (5 liang of dry product); sishizhiqi 3 liang of fresh grass, with Yucao 1.5 liang of fresh (5 liang of dry product). A total of 939 cases were treated, including 574 cases of simple type and 365 cases of wheezing type. After two courses of observation, clinical cure accounted for 3.8%, markedly effective 18%, improved 57.4%, ineffective 20%, the total effective rate was 79.2%. Among them, one or two prescriptions had the highest curative effect, and the markedly effective rate was more than 25%. During the medication, some patients felt dry mouth, dizziness, stomach discomfort and abdominal distension, which disappeared after a few days.
