[plant morphology] Pushu, also known as SAPO, Qingpu, poshu, Qianli, Puyu, Sangzi, Puzi and xiaoyeniujin.
Deciduous trees, up to 16 m high. The bark is brownish gray, annual branches are densely hairy, with obvious lenticels. Leaves alternate, broadly ovate or ovate elliptic, 5-10 cm long and 3-4.5 cm wide, apex pointed, base oblique, margin upper half serrate, upper bald, lower veins with a few hairy or glabrous; petiole 5-10 mm long, pilose. The flowers are heterozygous, monoecious, 1-3 in the axils of the new branches of the same year; perianth segments are 4, hairy; stamens are 4, filaments are red; pistils are 1, styles are 2-lobed, ovary is ovate. The drupe is nearly globose, reddish brown at maturity, 4-6 mm in diameter, with dens and ridges on the surface of the drupe. The flowering period is May. The fruiting period is October.
Most of them live in the flat land, roadside and riverside of villages. It is distributed in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian and other places.
