Perennial herbs, 20-40 cm high, glabrous. Rhizome thick, nodose, purple brown; many fibrous roots. Stems tufted or solitary, slender, green, unbranched. The basal leaves have long stalks, 15-25 cm long; the stem leaves are alternate, the lower ones are petiolate, the upper ones gradually become sessile, the base of the petiole has 2 membranous sheaths, with obvious veins and no hairs; the leaves are ovate or broadly ovate, thin, 3-15 cm long, 1.5-9 cm wide, apex sharp, slightly curved, entire, base heart-shaped, green above, light green below, spike, terminal or terminal Axillary, total axis 3-5 cm long; florets white, diameter about 3 mm, pedicel short, base with bracteoles; perianth 5-lobed, oblong, 2-3 mm long; stamens 8, filaments linear; ovary superior, triangular, style 3, stigma capitate. It grows under the forest or in wet places in the middle mountain area, and is often found in the yellow sand and mud. Distributed in Hebei, Shanxi, Henan, Shaanxi, Hubei, Sichuan, Guizhou, Zhejiang, Jiangxi and other places.
