Deciduous shrubs or small trees, up to 5 m high. Branchlets are gray white pilose when young, then smooth, scattered, linear elliptic and porose. Leaves alternate; petiole 1-3 mm long, initially gray pilose, then gradually falling off; leaf blade obovate to oblong obovate, 3-7 cm long, 1.8-3.5 cm wide, apex acuminate or short acuminate, base cuneate, margin serrate, tooth tip hardened, sparsely white pilose above, gradually falling off, densely white pilose below, gradually sparse to old. Corymb terminal, white pilose, verrucous protuberance on rachis; calyx 5-lobed, covered with gray villi; petals 5-white; stamens numerous; style 2, stigma capitate, ovary covered with white pilose. Small pear obovate elliptic, about 8 mm long, ripe bright red. The flowering period is from April to May. The fruiting period is October.
It grows on the edge of forest or under sparse forest or in shrub. It is distributed in East China, central China, South China and southwest China.

② Treatment of fatigue: fresh Photinia glabra root six to seven Liang, mountain indigo (Verbenaceae) three to four Liang, Elaeagnus root skin one to two Liang.
