Deciduous shrub, up to 7.5 m high. Branchlets green brown, upper part of the vine like. Leaves alternate; ovate, elliptic to oblong, 5-11 cm long, apex obtuse or slightly pointed, stem round or subcordate, entire, smooth, golden yellow when dry below, lateral veins extended; petiole glabrous, 1.3-2 cm long. Inflorescence, panicle, at the top of branchlets; flowers small, about 1.5 mm long, light green yellow; pedicel 1.5-2.5 cm long; calyx 5-lobed, lobes triangular; petals 5-broad obovate; stamens 5, attached to the edge of disk; ovary separated from disk, 2-locular, style 2-forked. Drupe oblong, black at maturity, style persistent, base with persistent calyx. The flowering period is from June to July. The fruit period is from August to September.
