Herbs perennial, all covered with golden yellow bristles and yellow sap. Leaves basal, rosette shaped, narrowly oblanceolate or elliptic lanceolate, 5-15 cm long and 1.5-3 cm wide. The flower stems are single, erect, 20-40 cm in height; the flowers are light blue or purple, and single at the top of the flower stems; sepals are 2; petals are 4; stamens are numerous; ovary has 4 carpels at most, ovules are numerous, stigmas form a globular body. Capsule erect, wide elliptic or long elliptic, 1.5-2.5 cm long, near the top of the crack, 1.5-2.5 cm long; most seeds, dark brown.

Born in alpine grassland. Distributed in Shaanxi, Gansu, Qinghai, Sichuan, Tibet and other places.
