[plant morphology] Polygonum viviparum
Annual herb, 20-120 cm high. Stem erect. Leaves lanceolate, oblong or oblong elliptic, apex acuminate, often obtuse, base cuneate, glandular spot below, crescent spot above, green, main vein and leaf margin with coarse bristles; petiole short, with coarse bristles; sheath tubular, glabrous, apex truncate, with many veins. Panicle consists of several spikes, terminal or axillary, 4-6 cm long, nearly erect, with long stalks, lateral ones shorter, densely covered with glandular dots; bracts funnel-shaped, margin oblique, with sparse cilia, with several flowers inside; perianth light green or pink, about 3 mm long, usually 4-lobed, lobes elliptic; stamens 6; style 2, near base part free, curved outwards. Achenes ovate, flat, slightly angulate, 2.5-3 mm long, brownish black, glossy, enclosed in persistent branches. The flowering period is summer and autumn.
Love is near water. It is distributed all over China.
