[plant morphology] Juncus pseudo
Perennial herbs. There are creeping rhizomes under the ground. Stem greenish green, linear, up to 50 cm high, with raised stripes on the surface. The stem is leafless, but at the base there are several reddish brown, light yellow or dark black sheathed scaly leaves. Inflorescence lateral, clustered, umbelliform or compound umbelliform, with short stalk; perianth 6, 2-row, light green. Calyx flaky; stamens usually 3, inserted at the base of perianth; ovary superior, 1-locular, style inconspicuous, stigma 3, linear. Capsule long oval, containing many seeds. The flowering period is from April to June.
It grows on the edge of tidal wetland and swamp. It is distributed in Jiangsu, Anhui, Zhejiang, Hunan, Sichuan and other places.

[medicinal material] the dried stem is oblate, thin columnar or linear, 30-50 cm long, 1-1.5 mm in diameter, apex acuminate, slightly thick near the base, smooth surface, yellowish green, with vertical fine texture. It's solid and soft. The section is yellowish white, with white loose marrow in the center, but undeveloped. There is no breath, and the taste is light. It is better to dry evenly and green.

[prescription selection] ① for urinary tract infection: one or two for Gracilaria lemaneiformis, one or two for shuiqiancao and three for Smilax glabra; or one or two for Gracilaria lemaneiformis, one or two for xiaojicao, one or two for Cayratia japonica and two for baicaogen. Take it in water.
② Treatment of insomnia, neurasthenia: fresh Eulaliopsis two liang, yejiaoteng one or two, Danshen five money. Take it in water.
