[source] it is the whole grass with roots of Panax quinquefolium.

[plant morphology] Panax quinquefolium

Annual or biennial herbs, 10-20 cm high. The root is long conical. The stem is single, fleshy, hollow, and the upper part is stronger than the lower part. Leaves alternate, oblanceolate, margin with sparse shallow teeth, upper leaves gradually narrower. Most of the flower heads are dense, and the top of the stem forms a compound large flower head; the flowers are all tongue shaped and yellow. Achene obovate oblong, 2.5 mm long; corolla white. The flowering period is from June to July.

It grows in desert grassland and forest. Distributed in Gansu, Qinghai, Sichuan, Xinjiang, Tibet, Shaanxi and other places.
