[plant morphology] kongjiangteng
Annual creeping herb, 15-90 cm long. Stems branched, coarsely hairy, rooting on nodes. Leaves opposite; subsessile; obovate, 1-2.5 cm long, apex obtuse or rounded, base cuneate, margin incised above middle. Spikes ovate or cylindrical, very dense, 1-2.5 cm long, 6 mm wide; peduncle erect, axillary, 2-6 cm long; bracts ovate or obovate; calyx small, 2-lobed; corolla about 3 mm long, pink, tube weak, limb 2-lipped, expanded; stamens 4, 2-long, 2-Short, concealed, inserted in the middle of corolla tube; ovary 2-locular. The fruit is less than 2 mm in diameter. The flowering period is from summer to winter.
