Spikes, terminal or axillary; pedicels 4-8 cm long; bracts ciliated; flowers small, red, perianth 5-lobed, lobes ovoid; stamens 6-8, inserted at the base of perianth, medicinal yellow, ovoid; pistil 1, style not protruding, stigma 3-divergent. Achene, 3-ribbed, brown, glossy. The flowering period is July. The fruit period is from August to September.
