Annual herb, 20-80 cm high. Stem erect, weak, less branched, slightly hairy. Leaves alternate; petiolate; lanceolate to ovate or obovate, 2-6 cm long and 1-3 cm wide, apex obtuse or mucronate, margin shallowly toothed, base narrowly wedge-shaped, extending down to petiole, both sides sparsely hairy; leaves near branch end narrower and smaller. Capitulum about 7 mm long, 2.5 mm wide, arranged in an open corymb; involucral bracts arranged in series, acute, the outermost row shorter; all tubular flowers, bisexual, about 20, light purple red, corolla 2 times longer than bracts, apex 5-lobed. Achenes cylindrical, about 2 mm long, linear, hairy, corolla white, most. It blooms all year round.
Born on the open field. It is distributed in the south of China.

The stem is about 15-60 cm long, 3-5 mm thick, green brown, with longitudinal wrinkles, light yellow hairs and hard texture. The leaves are shrunken or shed, lanceolate to ovate or obovate, crispy.
