[plant morphology] Yinluo, Lingshui
Shrub, 1-4 m high. Roots usually simple, few branched. The stems and branches are brownish black with sparse hairs. Leaves leathery, alternate, oblong or oblong lanceolate, 9-18 cm long and 2-6 cm wide, apex acuminate, base broad and acute; lateral veins 8-10 pairs, convex below, apex arched and connected; petiolate. Flowers white, solitary, opposite to leaves, 1-2 cm in diameter; sepals triangular, acutely pointed, pilose; petals oblong elliptic, inner and outer whorls of petals equal or inner whorls slightly short, widely spread, outside closely pilose; stamens numerous; carpels about 7 or absent, pilose, stigma obovate, micro2-lobed. Fruit ovate, 1 cm in diameter, orange red when ripe. The flowering period is from April to July. The fruit period is from July to December.
Born in the middle of the mountain under the dense forest. It is distributed in the south of Guangdong Province.
