[plant morphology] Rhodiola decora
Perennial herbs. The root length is more than 60 cm. The stem and branch are erect or slightly raised, usually with many branches; the stem, branch and leaf have slightly long and expanded hairs, which are slightly rough and slightly silky. Leaves alternate, rectangular, oblong ovate or oblong, 2-5 cm long and 1-3 cm wide, hairy on both sides, with the densest veins on the lower side, apex obtuse or apiculate, base narrow or slightly cuneate, lateral veins inconspicuous; stipules lanceolate, 4-6 mm long, reflexed. Racemes, terminal or simultaneously axillary. There are 2-6 flowers; calyx tube is very short, sepals lanceolate, unequal; corolla and sepals are as long as or longer than sepals, butterfly shaped, yellow, flag clawed, round, wing obovate oblong, shorter than flag, keel and wing equal, curved inward; stamen 10, monomer, anther 2-locular; ovary linear, style long, stigma slightly oblique. The pods inflate into vesicles, 2.5-3 cm long. Seeds 20-30, kidney shaped. The flowering period is from June to October.
Born on hillside and wasteland. It is widely distributed in China, especially in the southwest.
[collection] harvest in summer, dry in the sun, or cut into sections and dry in the sun.
[medicinal material] the whole plant is dry with round stems and yellow brown hairs. The leaves are curly, mostly exfoliative, oval or ovate, yellowish green. There are pods at the end of the branch, and most of the seeds fall off. Those with roots are long, round, with few branches. The fibrous roots are slender and the surface is yellowish brown.
Produced in Yunnan, Sichuan, Guizhou and other places.
In Sichuan Province, the whole herb of the same plants, such as Phaseolus vulgaris, Lilium indicum (see "Lilium indicum") and Phaseolus striatum, has the same medicinal value as this product.
[chemical constituents] the seed of Phaseolus vulgaris contains phaseoline, hypophaseoline, phaseoline, nilagirine, phaseoline, β - sitosterol, luteolin, Vitexin, Vitexin xyloside and phytoagglutinin which can agglutinate human type A and type B erythrocytes.
[pharmacological action] the seeds and leaves of Phaseolus vulgaris contain a lot of alkaloids, which can be absorbed through the whole skin. It is mainly toxic to the liver, but there is no anemia, decrease of serum total protein and prolongation of plasma thrombin time (rats). The leaves of flowering plants fed to goats can cause poisoning, and the dry matter will lose toxicity (see "wild lily" for its anti-tumor effect).
