[source] it is the whole grass with roots of Sinomenium wilfordii, a plant of Asclepiadaceae.
[plant morphology] Sinomenium wilfordii
Perennial twining vines. The stem is thin and weak, branched and green. Leaves opposite; narrowly lanceolate, 3-4.5 cm long, 5-10 mm wide, entire; petiole short, 2-3 mm long. Umbels axillary, with few flowers; corolla campanulate, 5-lobed, pale green. Follicles fusiform, 4-5 cm long. The seed apex has a corolla.
It grows under the forest, on the edge of cliff or in stone crevices. It is distributed in Shaanxi and Sichuan.

Functions and indications: promoting blood circulation and relaxing tendons, regulating qi and dispelling wind. Treatment of traumatic injury, cold pain and numbness of lower limbs, rheumatism, numbness of hands and feet, toothache.
[selected formula] ① for rheumatism, numbness of hands and feet, muscle and bone injury: bundle one or two Xiansi. Stewed pig's Trotter.
⑦ Treatment of toothache: tie Xiansi dry root half an inch, powder, containing in the pain teeth.
