[plant morphology] pseudotalon
Rattan shrub. The branches are rough, with gray white and convex lenticels. Leaves alternate, thin leathery, oblong or oblong elliptic, 4-12 cm long and 2-4 cm wide, glabrous, apex obtuse or short pointed, base rounded, entire, upper bright, lower pink green. Flowers yellow white, born on the petiole of 2-4 cm long, opposite or nearly opposite to the leaves; sepals 3, ovoid, 3-5 mm long, outer pubescent; petals 6, 2-row, outer whorl larger than inner whorl, oblong, oblong lanceolate, 3-5 cm long, 1-1.8 cm wide, apex obtuse, outer pubescent; stamens many, cuneate, locule linear, outward, filaments thick, fleshy. The fruit is beaded, 2-5cm long. Seeds globose, ca. 5 mm. The flowering period is June.
It is distributed in Guizhou, Yunnan, Guangdong and Guangxi.

[herbal medicine] the dry leaves are mostly broken, thin leathery, bright green or light brownish green on the top, light gray or grayish green on the bottom, oblong or oblong elliptic in shape, 4-12 cm long and 2-4 cm wide, bald and clean, with blunt or short pointed apex, rounded base, entire margin and short stalk. It is light in taste and weak in breath.
It is produced in Guangxi and Guangdong.
Bitter, pungent and warm.
