[plant morphology] Stephania fortunei

Liana woody, 4-5 m long, glabrous. The tuber is stout. Branchlets with fine longitudinal stripes. Leaves herbaceous or nearly papery, alternate, broadly ovate or ovate, 4-8 cm long and 3-7.5 cm wide, apex obtuse, base rounded, sub truncate or microcordate, entire, below usually pink white, palmate veins 7-9; petioles peltate, 6-8 cm long.
