Evergreen dwarf shrubs, 50-150 cm high. Branchlets slender, light brown. The branches and leaves are densely covered with brown scales. Single leaf alternate; leathery; leaf blade elliptic or elliptic oval, 1-2 cm long, 0.5-1 cm wide, apex acute, base cuneate, entire, dark green above, light green below, hairy; petiole about 3 mm long, covered with brown hairs. Flowers 3-6, axillary, pedicel with brown hairs; sepals 5, with brown hairs; corolla funnel-shaped, white or pink; stamens 5, longer than corolla, lower hairy; pistils 1, ovary densely brown hairs. Capsule densely reddish brown strigose.
Born in the mountains and grasslands or under the pine forest. It is distributed in Yunnan, Sichuan and other places.

Functions and indications: clearing away heat and diuresis. Treatment of infantile convulsion, nephritis.
