[collection] when collecting nutmeg seeds, peel the aril and dry it in the sun.
[herbal medicine] this product is a flat flap, about 25 mm long, or over, about 1 mm thick. It is light reddish brown or orange reddish brown. It is translucent and brittle. When it is immersed in water, it will return to its original shape on the seed. The upper part is irregular, and the lower part is connected, slightly bowl shaped. It has the inherent aroma of nutmeg, fragrant and slightly bitter.
[chemical composition] it contains 4-15% volatile oil, and its composition is similar to that of its seed. Palmitic acid accounted for 37.6% of the total fatty acids in aril, and the rest were unsaturated fatty acids, oleic acid and linoleic acid.
