Large climbing shrubs. Leaves opposite, lanceolate to elliptic, ca. 9 cm long and 2.5 cm wide, apex acuminate, entire, base cuneate, glabrous; petiole 6-10 mm long. Flowers 1-3, cymose, in axils of new branches, pedunculate, pedicel longer; bracts small; calyx small, 5-toothed, persistent; corolla yellowish, about 8 mm long, slightly divergent, tube very short, 5-lobed, lobes thick, arranged in bud like tweezers, tomentose or inner surface nearly smooth; stamen 5, inserted on corolla tube, anthers almost sessile, protruding; ovary 2-locular, Ovule 1 per locule, style cylindrical, stigma 2-lobed. Berry globose, red, ca. 8 mm in diam. The flowering period is July.
