[plant morphology] Kalanchoe
Herbs perennial, up to 50 cm tall. The stem is much branched, the lower part is creeping and rooting, the nodes are slightly enlarged and knee flexed, and the tender branches are pilose. Leaves opposite, broadly ovate or ovate, 1.5-5 cm long and 1-4 cm wide, with hairs on both sides. The flowers are purplish red, arranged in axillary or terminal cymes, with a pair of ovate leaflike bracts at the end of the inflorescence branch. There are three flowers in the inflorescence, usually only one developed; the Corolla is 2-lipped, and the lower lip is 3-lobed. Fruit rodlike, 2-locular, longitudinally lobed at maturity, placenta not ascending; seeds 4, oblate. It blooms in early winter.
Most of them are cultivated, and some are wild on hillsides, wasteland and roadsides. It is distributed in the south of China.
