[plant morphology] Nelumbinis emeiensis
Perennial herbs, 1.5-2 m high. The rhizome is plump, fleshy and spherical. The leaves are papery, 80 cm long, bipinnate, 7-9 pairs of pinnae, alternate, obliquely upward, 30-45 cm long, 13-20 cm wide in the middle, slightly narrower toward the base, 3 cm long in the petiole, odd pinnate, and wingless in the axial tip of the feather; the microphylls are about 20 pairs, 5-8 cm long in the base, 7-11 cm long, 8-13 mm wide in the upper, linear lanceolate, acuminate, and slightly smaller in the base Cordate, asymmetrical, with petiole ca. 2 mm long, margin crenate, apex acutely serrate. Leaf veins developed, single or bifurcated, more obvious. Scales sparsely distributed below midrib, brownish green above and yellowish green below; leaves long petiole, thick as middle finger. The sporangia are oblong, composed of 11-15 sporangia, close to each other, on the back of leaves near the edge.
It grows in the valley under the forest and in the shade under the shrub. It is distributed in Sichuan.

Functions and indications: remove rheumatism and urinate. It can cure rheumatism, bone pain, lung disease, hot cough, mumps, adverse urination, blood dysentery, carbuncle swelling and heat toxin.
[usage and dosage] oral administration: decoction, 1-2 Liang; or soaking in wine. External use: tamping.
