[collection] it can be harvested in spring, summer and autumn. Generally, the rhizome is dug in autumn, the fibrous roots and scales are removed by fire, and then put into boiling water for a moment, or put into a steamer to steam thoroughly, and then take out and dry. Then put it into the bamboo cage and rub it back and forth; use the bamboo sieve to remove the dust and hair, and you will get the light Cyperus. [medicinal material] the dried rhizomes are spindle shaped, sometimes slightly curved. It is 1.5-4.5 cm in length and 5-10 mm in diameter. The surface is brown or dark brown, with longitudinal wrinkles and several uplifted links, brown hairy scales and residual root marks on the nodes, while the appearance is smooth and the links are not obvious when the hair is removed.
